In 2003 FMS founder ERIC RHEA began offering shopping, delivery and furniture assembly services after a visit to IKEA to purchase furniture for his two-bedroom Manhattan apartment. Identifying a niche market that was underserved and poorly managed, Eric began assisting clients in designing their spaces and crafting storage solutions in tight quarters, purchasing and delivering their furniture and assembling the flat-boxed, assembly-required furniture.

Having garnered critical acclaim for his services as the premiere go-to service on Apartment Therapy and “Best of New York” in New York Magazine (formerly as IKEADELIVERYALTERNATIVE.com) Furnish My Space/IDA Flatpack Furniture Services has spent a decade and a half putting the NY Tri-state area into happy homes and workspaces. 

Realizing that his company does SO MUCH more than just flat-boxed, ready to assemble furniture it became time to brand the company with a name that encompasses what they do across the board, "Furnish My Space".

With a natural knack for interior design and space planning and a team of drivers, movers and assembly and handy-men available and on staff daily, FMS is equipped to get a job done from initial design phase to full completion of furnishing at a pace that continues to blow the minds of their clientele.

Eric and his team are used to repeat clientele.  We have grown with the homes and families of so many of our clients we cannot count.  We have watched couples marry, have kids move into new homes and watched their children grow from infancy to teenagers and been responsible for making their houses "homes" throughout the entire cycle of life.  You must be good when people keep coming back.
